DCI's Data Warehouse
World in San Jose Will Take Orlando Show to Next
Level
New User Stories, Debates,
Data Mining Forum Enhance Industry's Prime Event
Andover, MA -- By
any measure, the recent DCI Data Warehouse
Conference in Orlando was considered the premier
event in the industry.
Besides featuring
over 100 of the top data warehousing companies
displaying their latest offerings, the conference
offered more than 100 sessions, including 75 new
presentations. Sixty of the world's leading data
warehousing authorities addressed not only the
hottest current topics in the field but the
issues that will appear in the next one to five
years. Representatives from such high-powered
Fortune 500 firms as Wal-Mart, Sears, MCI and
NationsBank presented well-attended user-story
presentations to over 2,000 high-level business
and information executives.
As impressive and
successful as the Orlando event was, the West
Coast version -- April 8-10, 1997, at the San
Jose Convention Center -- will be more
impressive. Besides the high-level exhibitors,
quality presenters, and cutting-edge tracks,
DCI's Data Warehouse World will offer some
innovative additions.
Most notable is
The Great Data Warehouse Debates, a
never-before-seen event pitting industry experts
against each other in a high-level discussion of
three data warehousing topics: OLAP, Modeling and
Repository Strategies. Included among the experts
will be such industry "heavyweights" as
Ralph Kimball, President of Ralph Kimball
Associates, and Richard Finkelstein, President of
Performance Computing.
A full-day forum
on data mining -- considered by experts to be the
next commercially significant "secret
weapon" -- will be moderated by Aaron
Zornes, META Group Executive Vice President and
Data Warehouse Conference Chairperson. In
addition, a number of new user stories and case
studies will highlight the practical business
applications of data warehousing technology.
"The feedback
we got from the Orlando show was
outstanding," Zornes explained. "The
quality of the sessions and the exhibits, as well
as the level of attendee, made Orlando an
extremely well-received show. With the new
elements that we've added in San Jose, we are
convinced that anyone even remotely connected to
the data warehousing industry has to
attend."
Members of the
media interested in registering for the show
should call Dave Costello at DCI Media Relations,

A second DCI
Data Warehouse World will be held in New York,
July 29-31, 1997.

Andover, Massachusetts, is a world leader in
high-technology education, trade shows and
management consulting. META Group, Inc.,
